Wellington’s Words on Wool – Wednesday

As the official “face” of White Cloud for Wool Week, I am flattered to have been invited to put in a guest appearance at the new Green & Easy shop in Malvern.  However, had I known that I would be incarcerated in an enormous cardboard box for the journey, I might have made other arrangements for the day …

The Campaign for Wool is a five year global campaign designed to demonstrate wool’s natural sustainable qualities and versatility.  Wool organisations from around the world have come together with woolgrowers, manufacturers, designers and retailers to show just how diverse and adaptable wool is and White Cloud is proud to be an official partner.

Fascinating wool fact for Wednesday:  Wool is a hydrophobic fibre; it does not readily absorb liquid, which helps explain why wool does not need regular, constant cleaning/washing to maintain performance.

Here is a photo of me with Sue – it shows Sue at her sewing table; she does all the sewing for special Orders and has been with White Cloud since 2005.  It was her idea to make little wool cushions and wool hot water bottle covers and now these have been photographed, will be added to www.whitecloud.co.uk in the next few weeks.
