Wellington’s Woolly Words – Thursday

Wellington

Wellington

Just to show how snuggly wool is, here is Bobs (“Sponge Bob”) asleep on one of the wool cushions while it was being photographed recently (not such a handsome photo as mine, of course); Bobs is a Kiwi cat; she travelled all the way to Gloucestershire from New Zealand in 2005 having been purchased for $25 in a pet shop in New Plymouth as a tiny kitten on a whim.   Just who she decides to support in the up and coming Rugby World Cup, with her divided loyalties, remains to be seen….

Fascinating wool fact for Thursday – Dust Mites are responsible for many common allergies but they do not flourish in wool.

Another busy day in the office for Spongebob

Another busy day in the office for Spongebob

Dust Mites need damp/humid conditions to thrive (such as feathers or down) which is yet another reason why wool makes such a naturally healthy choice for sleeping;  from small babies on baby lambskins, to much loved office cats with New Zealand connections.
