Sell By Dates and the Co-Op

A little episode at the Co-op this morning really made me feel frustrated- a lady in front of us wanted to purchase a bag of lettuce. It had been marked “reduced” and she wanted it to feed her tortoise- however because it passed its Sell By date the jobsworth behind the till said she was not allowed to sell it.
