This premium 100% New Zealand 450gsm (approx 8 to 12 TOG) wool filled duvet is the warmest in the White Cloud range. These pure wool duvets are made exclusively for White Cloud and are soft, light and warm and are especially suitable for colder winter months. The unique Supawool manufacturing process combines the softness and length of Merino wool with the strength of Corriedale wool to produce a unique blend that has warmth, superior loft (30% more than conventional duvets) and durability.
A wool duvet can appear "thinner" than a conventional duvet, which is why it is critical to consider the quality of the wool filling. The wool in all White Cloud duvets is chosen from the world's premier wool growing region in southern New Zealand. While it is logical to choose locally grown wool, the manufacturer of White Cloud duvets would source this particular wool quality, regardless of its location. The harsh Otago winters and the hot summers produce a unique quality of wool that is second to none for softness, handle and performance.

"My mum says she has never been so cosy in bed, she has difficulty getting up in the morning because she is so comfortable, which is good because she is 80 years old" Jenny H
"We are nice and cosy under our White Cloud duvet- I didn't mention that our heating system failed last week and we won't be getting a new boiler and radiators fitted until the New Year- one very happy customer" Marlene Perowne
Q. Tell me more about how to care for these wool duvets
A. Because wool controls body temperature so effectively, there is less need to clean and all they require is regular exposure to simple fresh air. White Cloud duvets are dry clean only. To make a wool duvet washable it has to be put through a chemical process. This strips the wool fibres of their outer layer and means it is no longer a genuinely "natural" wool product. Only the very best wool is used in the manufacture of White Cloud wool products and we prefer to keep it as natural as possible.
Q. How do I decide which weight duvet would suit me?
A. Take into consideration the warmth of your house/bedroom and whether you are naturally warm in bed or not. As a general guide, we recommend the 450gsm wool duvet from approximately December through to March.
Q. I have heard that wool duvets are a good ecological choice, is this true?
A. Yes! The wool is harvested annually and, unlike a feather/down filling, it does not necessitate cruelty or death. By investing in a good wool duvet you are buying responsibly and the wool in White Cloud duvets is not the by product of the meat industry.
